Reiki Symposiums

REIKI SYMPOSIUMS at Sedgebrook Hall 2010

Don't let the word "Reiki" put you off - the symposiums are for EVERYONE - regard the day as a "Wellbeing Day"

Here's what we did in October 2009

Once again we had an amazing Symposium in October. Barbara did a really interesting workshop on Crystal Healing.  I personally learnt so much about crystal healing that I didn't know before.  I love crystals but didn’t really understand how they worked or even where they came from, so the whole modality was demystified as Barbara talked us through a Crystal Healing Session and explained how they worked and why. We were also very blessed to have Robin Graham, co-founder of “The Laughter Network” join us. What an amazing and uplifting 2 hours!   Forced laughter soon became real laughter and in no time at all Robin had us literally rolling around on the floor. For many of us, we were taken right out of our comfort zones, but what a fantastic experience.

We all have a lovely day at Sedgebrook and for £35 per person you couldn’t get anything better.  Workshops, delicious 3 course lunch, meditations and relaxations, as much tea and coffee as you can drink, beautiful surroundings but best of all, you’ll meet some really genuine and generous people.

If you’d like me to reserve you a place on the 23rd January  please contact me.  Places are limited. Email: sue@petemattsue.freeserve.co.uk

PLEASE spread the word about our lovely Symposiums—they are open to everyone, irrespective of whether they are Reiki attuned or simply interested in having a relaxing day. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone again and spending time with people who, just by being who they are, make the day at Sedgebrook so special.

Here are just a few "gems" from my feedback forms:

"A heavenly day - I didn't realise Reiki was all about me; thank you for everything" - Lisa

"Wow - I never imagined the rollercoaster of emotions I would feel - how is it possible to experience such a ride and yet feel so calm? What a wonderful day, thank you SO much" - Karen

"Another wonderful day, the people, the venue and the content - superb" - Caroline

"Well, that was a fun filled, chill out day; all the stuff I like - chanting, drumming and meditation.  Keep on doing what you're doing, you're a star!" - Angela

" A really wonderful day, I love the blend of energy and interests in the room, it's like an exquisite perfume with top notes and base notes" - from one of my more poetic delegates, Beccy

" The days just get better and better - when I walk through the door it's like being welcomed back into a loving family - I wouldn't miss it for the world" - Sarah

"Through your reiki days I have been reunited with friends I did my reiki training with; you bring people together in such a caring way, your passion shines through in everything you do - thank you so much Susan" - Celia

Dates for 2010

Saturday 23rd January - Symposium

Saturday 27th March - Empowerment Day

Saturday 5th June - Symposium

Saturday 16th October - Symposium

Saturday 23rd January - Symposium

We have a great line up of workshops for January that will move us, balance us and excite us. Barbara Lewis is hosting a workshop on Energy Balance.  Barbara is a Complementary Therapist who specialises in Reflexology and does an amazing technique on the feet that really sends waves of energy through the body simply by gentle touch.  I do not want to give too much away as I want you to all experience it for yourselves.  We will be practicing this technique on each other - it isn't ticklish and even if you "hate your feet (and other people's)" you have to try it.  (For those who have a genuine dislike of feet I will be doing EFT in the corridor to help you rid yourself of the phobia so you can enjoy the workshop to its fullest...only joking but it's a though.....mmmm...I feel another really interesting workshop idea coming on.  I do EFT but not enough of it to teach others and answer questions....but I know someone who does...watch this space and get ready for some Emotional Freedom in 2010!) Ruth Chambers is a Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master/Teacher and a regular delegate at Sedgebrook, coming all the way from Donnington.  Ruth will be leading us through meditation and various exercises to "Open you Heart" - I cannot tell you more because if I did, I'd have to kill you...yes, it's that hush hush! ( I promise you - it will be amazing and is not to be missed) I am delighted to confirm that Sarah Gregg will be joining us to deliver a workshop on Reiki Drum.  It never fails to amaze me that people, who are in essence often strangers to me, say yes when I ask them if they will come along and share with us their experience and knowledge. I was over the moon when she said she would be delighted.  The healing vibration of the drum really has to be experienced - where as Barbara's energy technique is very passive and gentle - the drumming takes energy healing to a different level where you can feel the vibration through your whole body making your organs bounce...ugh, that doesn't sound great does it but it's a really physical feeling!  If you have a drum you HAVE to bring it. Sarah and I have been working together on organising an all inclusive Reiki Drum Retreat Week-end at Sedgebrook Hall in May 2010 the details of which are on my website, so I hope that Sarah's workshop on the 23rd January will whet your appetite and you will consider coming along for the week-end.

Saturday 27th March - Reiki Empowerment Day

Reiki Empowerment Day.  The theme of the day will be to Delve Deeper into the Japanese style of Reiki with some more exercises to enhance your reiki practice as well as meditations and healing. Just like our last empowerment day, there will be Reiju for all but not necessarily from me this time.  This January it was my privilege to attune 4 students to Shinpiden so with a bit of gentle persuasion, I might be able to get them to give me a helping hand! Where as the Symposiums are for everyone, this event is just for those who have been attuned to Reiki. You will take away with you a small manual and a wealth of experience so hope to see you there.

Saturday 5th June - Symposium

I am really hoping that we will be able to welcome the author Dr David Hamilton to this symposium but I cannot confirm until the beginning of 2010.  PLEASE can I ask EVERYONE to use the power of attraction and visualise him up there presenting a workshop.  He's an amazing speaker and with his physics background he explains the science behind why Distance Healing works. As yet I have no volunteers for other workshops but I know that someone out there will have something fabulous to bring us...yes, I am talking to you!

Saturday 16th October - Symposium

Sarah Line will be presenting a workshop on Labyrinths.  I met with Sarah a few days ago and I can tell you, you are in for a real mystical experience.  Sarah is in the process of building a Labyrinth at the “bottom of her garden” (an understatement if ever there was one) and has some wonderful plans for 2010, details of which can be found by reading on.   I am hoping to have someone come along to present a workshop on EFT too to help you rid yourself of anxieties and phobias but will confirm later in 2010

This weekend retreat provides an excellent opportunity to incorporate the training of the Reiki Drum teachings and a residential retreat at the beautiful Sedgebrook Hall Country House in Northamptonshire.  This retreat allows you to immerse yourself continuously and therefore more deeply in the Reiki Drum teachings.  It also gives space to go at a more leisurely pace, which means more time for reflection and digestion.  Reiki Drum weekends not only provide students with more skills to use on their clients, friends and families, but are deeply healing on a personal level.  Students in the past have remarked in the incredible shifts and changes they have experienced after the course.

The retreat is suitable for Reiki II students and above.

Sedgebrook Hall, close to Chapel Brampton and Althorpe, the ancestral home of Diana Princess of Wales,  is a beautiful country house set in woodland and surrounded by rolling countryside in the heart of Northamptonshire.  Once a private residence, it is now a modern luxurious conference centre and hotel, yet it retains all its original charm and opulence; from the sweeping ornate staircase to the crystal chandeliers.
Sedgebrook Hall boasts a Leisure suite with Swimming Pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi  and a Mini Gym plus a games room with pool and table football, golf and croquette. For those who enjoy the countryside there is the Brampton Valley Way just down the road but if your idea of fun is total relaxation  there is a good supply of very comfortable sofas and chairs in the lounge area!
