My interest in the system of Reiki began in 2004 after
the death of my Mother. Reiki helped me to come to terms with my loss by bringing peace and calm into my life. It wasn't
a magical cure for bereavement but it did allow me to start my healing process because it made me realise that healing will
never come from an outside source, it has to come from within, and with that realisation came the knowledge that we all have
an innate ability to heal ourselves if we are willing to allow ourselves the time and self love that we all need to help us
to recover and become whole. Since that time I have had the pleasure and privilege to train and work with some
amazing teachers and students who have helped expand my mind and open me up to the wonderful opportunities that
Reiki offers.
So out of something heart wrenchingly sad, came a new beginning and something enormously
positive.
On my Reiki journey I have studied many types and styles of Reiki and although every experience taught
me something new and exciting, I didn't feel quite "complete".
This all changed when I met
a Reiki Master called Joyce who studied with Frans and Bronwen Steine, co-authors of the "Japanese Art of Reiki"
and "The Reiki Sourcebook".
Frans teaches the more traditional system of Reiki; Usui Reiki Ryoho and
so, with the help and mentoring of Joyce I completed Shinpiden Usui Reiki Ryoho in December 2008. It's a bit of a cliche but I really do feel that I have "come
home". Usui Reiki Ryoho is pure and simple; no frills, no "add-ons" - just the channelling of Spiritual
Energy in its simplest and purest form.
I now teach the Usui Reiki Ryoho system to all my new students
and offer all my past students the opportunity to update their training if they so wish.
For more information
on Usui Reiki Ryoho please visit Frans and Bronwen's website: http://www.reiki.net.au/ where you will find a wealth of information!
As a Reiki Master/Teacher I take great pleasure in teaching
Reiki courses and undertaking attunements to all levels.
In March 2009 it was my privilege to attune
4 of my students to Master/Teacher.
Our "Reiki Journey" together started 2 years ago when
Debbie, Jean, Lucy and Kim came to me to study Level 1. 3 months later they studied and were attuned to Level 2. What
is special about Debbie, Jean, Lucy and Kim is their dedication and commitment, they are as inspirational to me (as humbly)
I appear to be to them - this is what they had to say after their Master attunement week-end:
"Thank
you for introducing me to Reiki; to a wonderful way of life, to wonderful people and friends"
Debbie
Capper
"Thank you for being a most wonderful, kind, intuitive and patient teacher. My Reiki journey
has been one of the most beautiful, enriching and inspiring part of my life so far - may we all walk along side one another
for years to come"
Jean Fisher
"Thank you for being an amazing teacher and an even
more amazing friend"
Lucy Turner
"What an inspiring week-end - thank you"
Kim Candela
Learning Reiki is a commitment. There are three levels and students study and progress
at their own speed. Many study level one and are happy to continue at that level working on themselves and on family
and friends, others feel the need to progress to level two practitioner level, others find that their Reiki practice takes
them to a special place where they want to pass on their knowledge and so become Reiki Master Teachers. In fairness,
I prefer to call myself a Teacher rather than a Master - the title "MASTER" conjures up someone who has achieved
the highest level of attainment and has nothing else to learn.....I will ALWAYS be learning; my students give me wonderful
opportunites to learn, their journey is my journey and it's a journey I undertake with sincerity and dedication.
